‘Drishti’ is part of a new series of work for 2017 called “Billabong”. After a wonderfully relaxing stay at Billabong Retreat west of Sydney I decided to create a series of artwork based on the feelings I had (very Zen) together with the landscape. It is a simple, yet beautiful, soft, almost neutral watercolour painting.
This artwork was designed with meditation in mind. It is deliberately simple with a single feather the only focal point within the work. If you look closely you will find the feather has landed softly in the billabong. Its reflection the only giveaway as the horizon line has been deliberately left obscure. The soft muted tones in this watercolour painting are reminiscent of pre dawn light with soft blues, greys with a hint of dusty pink. Perfect for your yoga room or quiet space this work will help aid your focus, your Drishti, as you practice. Incredibly hard to photograph, this artwork is meant to be viewed in real life to appreciate it subtle hues.
