Description

A stunning Sea Shell drawing made with pencils and  watercolour. Tiny foraged sea shells brought to life in this beach side drawing. I have enlarged the sea shells to focus on their wonderful lines, colours and textures. The ocean and horizon is dramatically distant creating the illusion that the shells are giants on the beach.

In this series of drawings, ‘See Shells’ is both a play on words and perspectives. I chose these two shells that I have found on various walks along Australia’s beautiful beaches because of their opposing shapes and colours. One long and spiraling with fairly muted tones. The other, that typical clam shape. The colours become more apparent the more you look and study them. It was my job to turn up the volume and really make them stand out.

The perfect edition to any beach shack. This artwork would look great matched with coastal blues and white or go for those sunset colours of coral pink, orange and navy.

This artwork is the 2nd in the series of 6 drawings. Each is framed in Australian timber.
